Finally... The Volkswagen XL1 Confirmed For Production with 0.9L/100km

Volkswagen have proudly announced that the XL1 "is the most fuel-efficient production car in the world". 47hp is developed from its two-cylinder 800cc TDI engine and it is combined with a 27hp electric motor. Fuel consumption is an insane 0.9 liters per 100km and can hit the 100km/h mark in about 12.5 seconds. It can travel 50km on electricity alone but also 500km with a full tank of gas. The first production run is to be limited to 50 cars and then made to order for customers. This car is not exactly an oil-painting but for some it may just be the future with the price of petrol constantly climbing...
