It has been reported that the The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) could cost the city about R1billion. The beginning of June 2010 is when it all began when the department started issuing traffic fines by letter post as opposed to registered mail. This is not legal as is states in some blah blah act that the fine must be delivered personally or via registered airmail. This makes all those fines invalid! The reasoning behind this? To save money… hahaha! Trust the JMPD to make such a massive stuff up… Tsk tsk…
