Audi R10 Rendering – Diesel Hybrid Could Possibly Make Production?

I have mentioned that Audi are going to try and compete with the LaFerrari and McLaren P1 by building what we think they will call R10. It would be a hybrid powered car consisting of a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine for the rear wheels and two electric motors for the front wheels. What you think of this rendering by TopSpeed? It looks very similar to the R8 E-tron and according to Audi, this car (if ever given the green light) will only see the production line in a minimum of 3 years. This is a little silly I think because by then, Ferrari and McLaren would already be well into their development of their next ‘hypercar’.
