Will The New BMW M4 Only Get Auto Transmission? I Don’t Care!

According to recent reports, the epic looking 2014 BMW M4 will only be offered with a dual-cluth auto transmission. I am not too surprised about this but it seems a majority of the automotive world is? They have been moving away from manual transmissions in the high-peformance models for a while now. I know you do not get the same sense of driving pleasure but the auto makes the car a lot more efficient and gives you better performance. BMW’s Head of M Development, Albert Biermann, said “Nobody wants it in Europe or anywhere else, so this will be the last time we do it” when talking about the manual transmissions in the new M5 and M6. With this being said, some spy photos of the M4/M3 prototype have surfaced and one can clearly see a manual transmission. I guess we are going to have to wait and see the final production version or word from BMW themselves… After driving the current M3 with the DCT transmission, I could not care less if it only comes in this option, it is glorious!
