Range Rover Autobiography South African Review

The team over at Cars.co.za have just got their hands on the range-topping Rangey in the form of the Autobiography. I have not been fortunate enough to drive one myself but these guys have done a great review and very relevant to South Africans. In December 2013 alone, 211 people spoiled themselves by purchasing the new Range Rover and I bet a handful of them were the R1.8 million Autobiography. As pointed out in the video review, this car is the epitome of luxury and with a price tag that is close to the big R2 million mark, one cant help but wonder who will actually take this properly off-road. The speed bumps, humps and potholes around South Africa do not count. I have no doubt in my mind that the car is seriously capable off the tarmac and it is even smart enough to determine what surface you are driving on and make the necessary adjustments. The big 4.4-litre turbocharged diesel V8 is what gives this tank some oomph and enough in fact to hit 100 km/h in just 7 seconds. In my eyes it is more of a Sandton soccer mom’s cruiser than a rough and tough 4×4 but if Range Rover make the sales, they don’t care what the car is used for! Looks wise, it is extremely striking and even though I have seen many on the roads now, it still catches my eyes for all the right reasons – presence!
