Now that we have seen the S-Class Coupe it was time to see the more potent AMG version. Well here we have the new S63 AMG Coupe in all its sleek and sexy glory. Powering this machine is the twin-turbo 5.5-litre V8 engine pushing a healthy 577 hp which makes it 41 hp more powerful than the outgoing CL63 AMG. It is also lighter so the power to weight ratio is improved dramatically. If you opt for the rear-wheel drive car then you will be able to hit 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds but if you opt for the 4MATIC version, the sprint time decreases to 3.9 seconds. Apparently Mercedes are only going to offer the 4MATIC version for left hand drive cars so doesn’t look like we will get this version in South Africa. For those who care, there will be an Edition 1 version of this which will usually be made available after 1 year. I don’t think a car this sleek and slender will suit an Edition 1 configuration but we will have to wait and see.
