Respect is surely due to the Mazda MX5, which has been a fully paid-up member of the motoring industry for a quarter of a century now. That’s right – the little car with the big attitude celebrates a milestone 25th birthday in 2014, and the celebrations are well earned.
An iconic car, it’s hard to believe the MX5 was unveiled to the world back in 1989 at the Chicago Auto Show. The model has undergone three different relaunches since then, and Mazda is due to release a fourth version, the MK4, towards the end of the year.
