It is almost time for the hot little A45 AMG to get a revision and it seems that Audi’s top spot as most powerful hatchback will be rather brief. The new Audi RS3 puts out 362 horsepower from its 2.5-litre, five-cylinder turbo motor which takes the crown away from the 355 hp 2.0-litre turbo of the A45 AMG. Tobias Moers, AMG boss, told Autocar that when the revised A45 returns, “it will be the most powerful again”. It is beleived that the power upgrade could go as high as 375 horses which should be strong enough to rocket the car to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. While they are at it, they are going to take the opportunity to make the A45 AMG look a lot more different to the lesser A-classes with AMG kits as these do look awfully similar.
