    Peugeot’s 308 R HYbrid Is A Super Hatch With 500 HP

    It is not often we talk about Peugeot on this site and that is because well they don’t pump out high-performance vehicles. Well that is all about to change because here we have their 308 R HYbrid model and it is properly impressive. At the heart of this new model sits a four-cylinder 1.6-litre THP petrol engine and two electric motors which produce a combined output of 500 horsepower (368 kW) and 730 Nm of torque (each electric motor has 115 horsepower). Peugeot say this is a “family hatchback which is capable of supercar performance” and they may be right because it can hit 100 km/h from stand still in 4.0 seconds! It won’t stop there either as it can easily reach its limited top speed of 250 km/h. The car has taken design cues from the Quartz concept and features aggressive styling with widened fenders, 19-inch wheels, large air intakes and a very distinctive black-blue paint job. The super hatch has the following driving modes;

    • Hot Lap – Full potential
    • Track Mode – 400 hp and 530 Nm mainly from petrol engine
    • Road Mode – 300 hp and 400 Nm
    This is awesome stuff from Peugeot and I am sure it is just the start of things to come!
