Just when we thought the wing on the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS was rather large, the Germans unveil this massive-winged, ultra-lightweight 911 GT3 R for the GT3 racing series. Porsche focused on cutting down weight and improving the aerodynamics of the GT3 RS. While doing this, they also managed to improve the handling, reduce fuel consumption and lower the service and spare parts costs. The power plant is a 4.0-litre flat-six unit which is identical to the production engine but uses a little over the 500 horsepower mark. The rear wing measures a whopping 2 meters across and 40cm in depth. This should keep this German beast glued to the tarmac at extremely high speeds. Deliveries start in December and the price tag is it’s pretty hefty at €429,000, plus country-specific VAT.
