Tesla Model S Has New Ludicrous Mode And Upcoming Model X Set To Be Fastest SUV In World

Some big announcement from Tesla recently and an important new addition to the Model S saloon is a new ‘Ludicrous’ mode. Simply put, it frees up more power from the battery pack which brings the 0 to 100 km/h sprint time down to a mind-boggling 2.8 seconds. This upgrade is only available for P85D owners and as Elon Musk put it himself, “the car will accelerate at 1.1g which is actually faster than falling.”

The other big announcement is that the new Tesla Model X SUV will be able to sprint to 100 km/h in around 3.4 seconds. This is more of a claim than a fact because the Model X has yet to be tested but Musk did say that the 0-60 time will be around “3.3-ish”. If this is the case, this would make the Model X the fastest SUV on sale. First deliveries of the car will happen in about 2 months but I would think a lot longer than that if it has not even been tested.
