Maserati Alfieri Production Pushed To 2018 – Cabrio Will Follow One Year Later

According to automobilemag, Maserati has decided to postpone the launch of the sexy Alfieri Coupe until sometime in 2018. It was just last year that the CEO, Harald Wester, told us that the Coupe would be heading to production in 2016 followed only a year later by the Cabrio. With the upcoming Levante SUV coming next year and Alfa Romeo’s big restructure, they have decided to push the date of the Alfieri out by 2 years. The good news is that the production version of the car will retain most of the concept’s appearance which means it will be one of the sexiest cars on the roads.

“Maserati will offer the high-performance coupe exclusively with a rear-wheel drive layout receiving power from a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine with either 410 bhp (305 kW) or 520 bhp (388 kW). Further down the line, there’s going to be a new, larger GranTurismo slated to come out towards the end of 2019 or early 2020 with serious “V8 power in a fully focused driver’s car” that will have a “cascade of low-end torque.” The engine in question is believed to be a twin turbocharged 3.8-liter with more than 550 bhp (410 kW) while the MC version will have in excess of 600 bhp (447 kW)” – WorldCarFans
