Oettinger Tuned The Audi RS3 To R8 Matching Performance

The team from Oettinger have managed to tweak the new Audi RS3 Sportback to produce performance numbers very close to it’s bigger brother, the R8.

The stock 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine pumps out 367 horspower (270 kW) and 465 Nm of torque. Oettinger’s stage 2 kit takes this number right up to 520 hp and 680 Nm of torque. With this added punch, the little hatch can hit 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds depending on wheels and tyres. Just for comparison sake, the new Audi R8 V10 achieves this same task in 3.5 seconds and the V10 Plus in 3.2 seconds. This is pretty damn ridiculous! Top speed is a mental 310 km/h which turns out to be the same for  the R8 V10. How did they do it you may ask? They started by modifying the turbocharger, installing a sport filter, and optimizing the intake. Then the engineers also fiddled with the ECU and mounted a bespoke exhaust system with valve control to deliver a more powerful soundtrack.

So you want this for your new machine? The tuner is asking between $9,377 (€8,295) and $11,745 (€10,390) for the stage 2 kit. The scary part of this whole post? Stage 3 and 4 are also available taking it to 650 hp and 750 hp respectively. That would likely be in the hypercar territory when looking at the 0 to 100 km/h times. Hopefully we see some of these numbers in action in the near future!
