Passing your driving test is one of the greatest joys in life. Being able to drive on your own is such an amazing experience. You now have complete freedom! If you’ve got your test coming up and you want to make sure you pass your driving test, these tips are guaranteed to help you.

Know The Car You’re Driving Well
It’s so important that you attempt to get to know the car you’re driving inside out well in advance of your test. This is because you will usually be required to answer some questions about the car before the test. You may even be required to show the examiner how to do something, such as check the oil levels. This is why getting acquainted with the car is absolutely crucial. Don’t be afraid to ask questions if the car is not yours.

Go To The Toilet Before Your Test
Not all test centres will have toilets, and the last thing you want is to be desperate to go right before your test and be unable to. Always go to the toilet right before you’re due to head off. Find out where the nearest toilets are, just in case. The day can make you feel extremely nervous, which can make things worse. Staying hydrated is a good idea, but don’t drink so much water that you are unable to control your bladder.

    Don’t Dwell On Your Mistakes
One of the biggest problems in those doing their driving test, is that they make a couple of small mistakes and let it put them off. Making small mistakes is totally fine and normal. You can’t let them throw you off and ruin the rest of your test. If you think you’ve made a mistake, simply move past it and continue to do your best. You might be surprised at how it all actually turns out! Take a deep breath to control your nerves.

    Don’t Forget Your Blind Spot
Many learner drivers forget their blind spot. This is one of the biggest things that people fail on. If you are asked to pull over, always check your blind spot before you pull off. Get into the habit of turning your head that way before your test.

Make The Mirrors Your Best Friend
The car mirrors are going to be your best friend throughout this test. They are so important for knowing who and what is around you at all times. You should look in them even if you’re not sure what you’re looking for. Of course you don’t want to give yourself neck ache by constantly turning your head, but you should make a habit of looking in them often.

    Don’t Rush Your Test
Never rush on your test. Although you can’t exactly take your time (doing less than the speed limit can be frowned upon), you should make sure you’re not in any rush. Don’t run red lights or attempt to beat them. Know the speed limit for certain areas and stick to them.

    Listen To The Examiner
Make sure you listen to the examiner carefully. You don’t want to end up in a car accident! You should never be afraid to ask them to repeat themselves if you need them to. Don’t worry if you go the wrong way either, as they can guide you back on course. As long as you are driving safely, you won’t fail for going the wrong way.

    Visualize Yourself Passing
Visualizing might sound strange, but it really works. Many athletes and other successful people do this after they’ve decided on a new goal. Visualize for at least 10 minutes every day. See yourself being calm and collected. See yourself feeling good about doing your test and driving like a pro. How does it feel? Also visualize the examiner telling you you’ve passed after the test. You can even visualize calling your loved ones afterwards, and giving them the good news. Feel the elation and hold the feeling! Visualizing is such a powerful technique. Look up success stories if you don’t believe it. It’s at least worth a try if it’s worked for others!

    Find Ways To Relax
If you find yourself feeling nervous when you think about your test, find ways you can relax. For instance, deep breaths can actually have a very calming effect on the body and mind. You could also try positive affirmations. Some like to use a couple of drops of Bach’s Rescue Remedy to help them too.

These tips will help you nail your driving test and finally have the freedom you want!
