How Self-Driving Cars Are Taking Over the World Today

Imagine owning a car that drives itself through traffic and takes you where you want to be without hassle? Just twenty years ago, many of us believed that we would be using flying cars by now. While we may not be there just yet, the time will come where self-driving vehicles will become the “norm” in society.

With companies like Tesla and Volvo, more brands are coming out to invest in the latest development in the car industry. Self-driving cars can still be manually driven, but also allow humans to take the backseat at their own disposal. In this article, we will discuss how self-driving cars are taking over the world today.

    More Lives Will Be Saved

According to the World Health Organization, over 1 million people die due to collisions. However, driverless cars play a role in potentially reducing the number of accidents and savings more lives.

    Reduce Carbon Print

Driverless cars may even help save our planet. Since autonomous vehicles are built for efficiency in speed variation, braking, and acceleration, they also help reduce carbon emissions. In fact, with the increased use of autonomous cars, this could drastically remove as much as 300 million tons of CO2 emissions each year.

    Get Rid of Traffic

Did you know that the average commuter spends about 50 hours in traffic every year? With the increase in vehicles, the numbers may only continue to rise. However, with the rise of self-driving vehicles, this will increase highway capacity and lead to less time wasted on traffic.

    Saves You Time and Money

Imagine the time you spend driving to and from your destination. With autonomous cars, drivers would be able to spend time reading, working, and even taking a nap instead. This also promotes better productivity. In fact, studies by Morgan Stanley claim that autonomous vehicles could promote productivity and result in nearly $500 billion a year. When combined with other savings from vehicle needs like accident avoidance and fuel efficiency, the total will only rise.

Additionally, the latest NeuV is taking a new approach to driverless vehicles as you can ride share and earn extra cash without any effort. The NeuV machine will make itself available for anyone who needs it and pays you for the privilege.

While this may mean the loss of professions like food delivery and taxi drivers, autonomous vehicles will also create more jobs, including hi-tech mechanics, build new infrastructures, and even software developers to improve the models.

    • Aston Martin calls it the 'fastest luxury SUV in the world' and 'the supercar of SUVs' but is the DBX707 worth all this hype?

It is the fastest and most powerful SUV you can currently buy (order) in SA so there is that but the reality today is that the 707 will have to dice with the Urus, the Bentayga Speed, and the Cayenne Turbo GT for hearts, minds, and wallets.

Aston estimates 65% of DBX sales going forward will be this 697 hp (520 kW) and 900Nm variant and after driving it, this might be an underestimate. If the regular DBX is in your price range, then you can almost certainly afford a DBX707.

It can hit 100 km/h in 3.3s and go to a ridiculous 310 km/h so, of course, it is properly quick but it is just as impressive when the roads get twistier and it instils an enormous amount of confidence in the driver.

If you fancy snapping up this contender for the Super SUV king title, you are going to need at least R5m making it significantly more expensive than the Lambo and Porsche counterparts but you will be driving something a lot more rare which could be the reason you hand your money to Aston Martin.

What do you all think?
