    Getting a car is often the easy part, maintaining it on the other hand, takes a little more care and attention.     The Engine

    Your engine needs oil and should be replaced around every three months, or approximately every 3000 miles. If you live in dusty condition, or drive in traffic that stops and starts a lot, this means that you might have to change your oil a lot more often, so be aware of that. This is the same for short journeys, which means that your car doesn’t have enough time to warm up, and can contaminate the oil. Changing the oil, the air filter, oil filter, and fuel filter, will help your car to run smoothly.

    Your Brakes

    A warning signal coming up is the first sign that your brakes need attention, but there are other warning signals too like the noises they make. If your car starts making irregular noises, aor starts to make a new sounds, this might mean you need to take it into a garage. Grinding or chirping noises could suggest many different kinds of issues, so if in doubt, get it checked out.

    Getting Parts Replaced

    Every now and again you will need to replace certain parts of your car. There are lots of minor parts which you can easily replace by yourself as well. The issue most people have is whether to buy the parts second hand or buy them brand new. Both have their pros and cons. Second hand they will often come cheaper, and if you have an older model, you will definitely be able to find the part you need on the internet. Buying parts brand new means they will be of an assured quality, and often come with added security, like being able to take it back if the part doesn’t work properly. It’s up to you whether to buy second hand or brand new, they both have different benefits to suite different kinds of needs.

    The Battery

    Make sure the battery is kept clean and isn’t rattling around, as this can cause damage to it over long periods.

    These are a few pointer to make sure your car is kept up to scratch. Remembering to check to check for faults, and being aware if there are any changes with your car. Following these tips, and going for checks, should help maintain your car.
