Mercedes-Benz never put the 1954 300 SLR and the only 2 examples they made are safely locked away in their museum. A couple of German artists (Armin Ciesielski, Peter Brakel and Walter Willer) known as the “Giants of Steel” have replicated one of these cars out of 10 000 pieces of scrap steel. Price tag? A cool $95 000 (R840 000). Heavy price to pay but I think it is rather cool!
