Did The New Range Rover Sport Suffer Catastrophic Mechanical Failure at ‘The Ring’?

Pictures have surfaces on Bridge to Gantry which shows us that there was an incident that occurred on the Nurburgring involving the new Range Rover Sport. It is hard to say what happened but there does not seem to be much bodywork damage to the car suggesting that there was no impact with the barriers or something of the sort. It points to what I think is complete mechanical failure of one of the new Rangey’s component, possibly the suspension, leading to the damage and (removal?) of both wheels on one side of the car. No one was injured but I really would love to know what actually happened?
