You might be surprised to learn that some of the world’s coolest cars actually belong to the boys in blue. You won’t believe what the police get to drive in some places around the world, we round up some of our favourite police cars below:

    Sheriff Gets His Dream Car
When you want to have style, security and speed, who do you call to pimp out your Hummer? Well the Germans of course. GeigerCars.de added a supercharger, modified the engine and created a 700hp behemoth, complete with requisite 28” chrome rims and top speed of 250km/h. Sheriff – the fastest police Hummer in the world.

    Trying to Dodge the charges?
From 2006 to 2013, this police version of the epic Dodge Charger from Daimler-Chrysler was the police car of choice across North America and even made its way to Europe, the Middle East and South America. Additions to the civilian version included a heavy-duty braking system, integrated siren and a built-in aluminium plate for onboard police computers and radio equipment. This Californian Highway Patrol version just looks like it should be on a racetrack!

    Best birthday present ever
This Australian Police Muscle car comes courtesy of Ford for New South Wales Highway Patrol. It certainly looks the part, but can it keep up with wayward drivers? Simply… yes. Introduced to celebrate the police force’s 150th anniversary, it has a 400kW supercharged 5.0 litre V8 engine and is a snip at $100,000.

    German efficiency
Surely the 911 should be driven in America as that’s their emergency telephone number? That aside, the Germans are fortunate enough to have no speed limits on the autobahn, and the police lucked out with their Porsche 911 Carrera. It’s capable of 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds and gets up to 186mph.

    Italian stallion
Of course the Italians have to blow everyone out of the water, with their effortlessly cool and stylish (but really rather ridiculous) Lamborghini Gallardo. If you saw this in a 1980s cop movie you’d never believe it, truth is stranger than fiction. This was gifted to the police department by Lamborghini. 203mph top speed and 560bhp.

    Putting the Great into Britain
Remember in the introduction when we talked about rubbish British police cars? Well, we take it all back… ish. This was a pursuit car, but sadly only a prototype and when it was test driven on TV’s Fifth Gear it burst into flames, and when Jeremy Clarkson drove it on Top Gear bits fell off. It still looks amazing and would have criminals shaking in their stolen boots.

    Robocop’s ride?
Without doubt the coolest, meanest police car ever made. Disregard the showy supercars that crumple under the pressure, when the heat is on, this is the car you want to be chasing the bad guys in.  This Carbon Motors E7 comes with the slogan, “A new brand of justice” and the prototype had the vanity plate “GOTCHA”. Never intended for civilian use, this first-of-its-kind, purpose-built police car is pretty much bombproof.

    One word…Dubai
Dubai brings cool police cars to a level no one can match. Their fleet includes an incredible variety of cars from the Ferrari FF, Nissan GT-R, Aston Martin One-77 and oh yes even the mighty Aventador.

    Didn’t quite make the list
Here we have another Sheriff from America, but one that has slightly missed the mark in his attempts to make it to our list. Gary S Borders, if that’s your name on the side of the car… no! Bad policeman! No-one should do that to a Dodge Charger. Ever.
