McLaren Using Fighter Jet Technology to Replace Windscreen Wipers

Frank Stephenson, the chief designer for McLaren, recently said that they are working on a new technology that will replace windscreen wipers. An ultrasonic transducer on windscreen will send 30 kHz waves across glass to remove all types of debris (water, insects, mud and snow). This tech is already used on fighter jets so it isn’t ground breaking but good to hear someone is being innovative with an item that has not evolved in years. Improve fuel economy (less drag) and ice removing capabilities for cold climates are major advantages too.
