I had the opportunity to drive a little Lotus Elise a while back and I must admit it is a fun little car to throw around. This owner found out the hard way that the small thin wheels and cars light weight makes it rather susceptible to aquaplaning. Judging by the photo’s, and from the driver’s input, the car hit a puddle of standing water which caused the car to spin and collide with the barriers. The car is heavily damaged on the front, side and rear and with the airbags deployed, I don’t think this car will make it back onto the roads again. Thankfully the driver was uninjured during the incident and was the one to provide us with the photo’s and small story of what happened.
