I came across these pictures today and after doing a bit of digging seems that this car is quite rare. Not only is it the only G500 Cabriolet in South Africa but it is also the only (known) RHD example in the world. The conversion was done by AMG in Germany and then a private owner brought it into the country to sell. Not the best looking car in the world but most definitely unique in our beautiful country.
