We knew it was coming but I did not think Porsche would take the wraps off for a few more months. Introducing the new Boxster Spyder which is basically a more masculine Boxster with some GT4 sourced bumpers and unique engine cover. The soft-top is lightweight and partially manually operated which means it is a bit of a hack to take off and put on. Inside the car it is pretty much the same but does feature new sport sears and a new steering wheel. Performance is provided by a 3.8-litre six-cylinder that pushes out 370 horsepower and is able to accelerate to 100 km/h from stand still in 4.5 seconds. The Boxster Spyder goes on sale in Germany in July so we can expect to see some arriving in South Africa closer to the end of the year.
