It seems that attempting lap records on the insane Nurburgring has come to an end. The decision came after the fatal accident when a GT-R left the track during a VLN race and killed a spectator. This resulted in a speed limit on that stretch of the track and more speed restrictions are being put in place for health and safety reasons. According to Nurburgring management, they will review this decision in time but for now it is firmly in place.
