The head of AMG, Tobias Moers, has confirmed that his team are developing a focused, more powerful version of the AMG GT. He said “We’ve put a lot of effort into increasing our members of the AMG GT family and the next performance level is part of our daily work. We’ve made some good improvements. It’s not the Black Series. Expect something surprising. The car will have outstanding performance. We’ve made some effort with the powertrain, aero, weight… everything regarding performance.”

When he was asked why the model would not be called the Black Series, he replied “Maybe there is a CEO at AMG who believes there is another chance to have a Black Series above that.”
