Germany has always been one of the great car manufacturing nations in the world. But which are the fastest cars they’ve made?

    Audi R8
The Audi R8 manages to combine that unique German style that Audi bring to all their cars with a sports car style modeled on the Lamborghini Gallardo. The Audi offers a great level of the performance in the car too. The old V8 engine was replaced with a V10 engine that produces 525 brake horsepower. It reaches 17 miles per hour, but it manages to remain elegant even when it’s hitting high speeds.

    BMW M3
When BMW started making M3 sedans, there was a real change in how the model looked and how it drove. It managed to retain the power of the old coupe models that are associated with the M3, with a 4.0-litre V8 engine and 414 hp. This is quite impressive when combines with the speed that takes the car from 0 to 60 in 4.6 seconds. It’s not an expensive car either, so it’s an affordable option for a lot of people.

    Mercedes SLR McLaren 722
The Mercedes SLR McLaren 722 is consumer car based on the McLaren supercar. This means it combines the best of the supercar elements with the convenience you get from the best Mercedes consumer models. The exceeds 200 mph and the car produces an enormous 640 brake horsepower. The manufacturer managed to hit such heights be making the car low to the ground, reducing the weight and stiffening the suspension.

    Porsche 911 GT2 RS
This list simply wouldn’t be complete without a Porsche 911. And the one that is fastest is definitely the 911 GT2 RS. This is a car that was built with speed in mind. The weight was dropped and the engine fine tuned. It was must faster than the past 911 models that the designers and engineers were competing against. They can be pretty expensive to get hold off, but it might be worth splashing the cash.

    Mercedes SLS AMG GT
The long, broad hood on the Mercedes SLS AMG GT makes the car look great, but that’s not all it’s for. Underneath that hood is the car’s huge V8 engine. It makes the car look more like an American muscle car than a German car, but Mercedes know exactly what they are doing. The car falls just short of 200 mph, with top speeds reaching 199 mph, but that’s nothing to be ashamed off! Add that to the 583 bhp, and you have a very fast and powerful car.

    Audi RS6 Avant
The twin turbo V8 engine in the Audi RS6 Avant is an impressive model that really propels this small car forward. To look at it from the outside, you wouldn’t think that the car was fast enough to make it onto this list. But it’s a car that’s a lot faster than it looks, so don’t judge a book by its cover! If you opt for the Dynamic model, you can easily reach 174 mph, and if you go for the Dynamic Plus, you could reach 190 mph.
