Ford has just revealed their performance specs for the new Focus RS and it is officially the fastest RS model they have made. It achieves the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 4.7 seconds and can go all the way to 266 km/h. The Focus RS is powered by a specially engineered version of Ford’s new 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine delivering 345hp and 440Nm of torque.

During hard acceleration, an overboost function lifts torque to 470 Nm for up to 15 seconds. This Focus is the first to get launch control technology as well as the Ford Performance AWD system. It uses twin electronically-controlled clutch packs to manage the car’s front/rear torque split, and can control the side-to-side torque distribution on the rear axle.

Drivers can select four different Drive Modes that configure the AWD system, damper controls, Electronic Stability Control, steering and engine responses, as well as exhaust sound. Normal, Sport or Track settings are available, alongside a special Drift Mode. This car is going to be epic but I can just imagine what the price tag will be in South Africa!
