The New Ford Focus RS South African Pricing Guesstimated

Now that we know the new Ford Focus RS delivers a proper performance punch we are interested in how much bang you actually get for your buck. The starting price for the hatch is $36,605 in the US of A but how much will these little pocket rockets go for in SA? We know it will be at least (if not more) the cost of the new Audi RS3 which is in the R650,000 region so if you look at bang for your buck ratio, this is very high buck for your bang. The RS3 can achieve the 0 to 100 km/h sprint 0.4 seconds faster than the Focus RS and if the pricing comes in to match I think most people will opt for the German machine. Looks wise, the RS is proper boy racer so my vote might swing once I have driven both but these hot hatch prices are astronomical to say the least. To put it in a bit of perspective, you can get the top of the line Ford Mustang GT in the states for the same price as the RS. Watch the video clip below showing the car do a proper launch control to hit 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.
