The invention of the wheel was the single most important invention in the transportation history of mankind. One of the widest–reaching inventions, today it is the base of the modern transport system. Roadways are completely dependent on automotives that work on wheels. Obviously, the wheels today are much advanced and made to provide a comfortable travelling experience to the users. Cars today are far more advanced and come for every possible type of road track possible. There are sports cars, utility cars, luxury cars and cars made for traversing through rocky terrains and desert regions. The number of car enthusiasts has also increased over the years demanding a constant improvement in the design of the cars with time. We thus have all the major giants working hard and bringing about new car designs year on year. Off late, the high-end sports cars have so many advanced features that they are being called as super cars. A supercar is a luxury, high-performance sports car or a grand tourer. Let’s have a look at the 5 most awaited supercars of 2018:

    1. Bugatti Chiron 2018
The Bugatti is known for its Veyron of which it produced some 450 units over 10 years of time. Bugatti Veyron was the fastest production car in the world making into the Guinness Book of World Records. The new Bugatti Chiron is set to best its predecessor with 100mph higher speed and a horse power of 1479 rpm. It is set to enter the market in 2018. It was debuted at the Geneva Motor Show 2016. The Chiron is named after Louis Chiron, 1930 European Championships’ factory driver of Bugatti. As with the Veyron, only 500 units of this car have been commissioned for the entire 8 year period of its production and we hear that 200 of these are sold already. This car will take less than 2.5 seconds to reach a speed of 60mph from zero mph.
    2. 2018 Lamborghini Huracan Performante
The Huracan Performante has been redesigned to improve its performance. The front and rear portions are designed keeping in mind the ability to enable aerodynamics as the car moves across a race track. The interior of the car is designed from extremely light material keeping in mind the performance enhancement of the Huracan. It boasts of a powerful V10 engine and an improvised double clutch transmission. Lamborghini Huracan has been named after a fierce fighting bull while Lamborghini itself is the Spanish word for a hurricane. It also claims that it broke the Nurburgring lap record by 5 seconds with a record time of 6:52:01.
    3. 2018 AM-RB 001
The joint collaboration of Aston Martin and Red Bull for designing their latest super car is almost successful and it looks like a still straight out of a video game. AM-RB 001 will have a V12 engine but the details of this design are yet to be defined completely. It is expected to launch sometime next year and the company claims that it will be the fastest in its league with a terrible speed margin. The passenger compartment in this car looks small as the company claims that it will be able to fit two full size men. The aim of the designer is not to just build a car that has the highest possible speed statistically but to build a car that will put a smile on the face of its driver.
    4. 2018 McLaren 720S
The McLarens’ second generation Super Car 720 S can reach from zero to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds and to 124 mph in 7.8 seconds. The 2017 Geneva Motor Show witnessed the debut of this giant car. The car can accommodate 2 people. It has a twin turbo V8 engine with the horsepower of 710units. The car is designed such that the doors and A-pillars redirect the air in such a way that it cools the engine 15% more efficiently than its predecessor. The car has a computer which receives input from 12 sensors and suspension components and accordingly controls the double wishbones and independent dampers on all the four corners. And what’s more? The new model is approximately 40 pounds lighter than the previous model.
    5. 2018 Mercedes AMG supercar
The 2018 Mercedes AMG supercar is internally known as Project 1. It will have a petrol engine along with 4 electrical motors that will contribute to a total output of 736 kW. This car was unveiled at a media event in Germany at the Nurburgring 24 hour race. The car is set to cross a speed of 350 kmph and the designers do not look very interested in making it a top notch car in terms of speed. They rather have intentions of making this car as the most efficient car in every respect.
For all the supercar lovers, go ahead and buy these cars. Kwik-Fit.com will be a great option to inspect your car. They offer free mobile tyre fixing and free brakes inspection and many other services at discounted prices. If you cannot afford these dream cars, never mind, you can at least witness them and maybe, with enough investments and savings, you might be able to buy one in the future. Start small and grow big. After all, the ocean is but a collection of many drops.

    • Looks like the new Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE was spotted testing in South Africa 🇿🇦

That start-up sounds pretty damn promising!

This thing packs a whopping 791 hp (590 kW) and 1,430 Nm of torque.

    • We waited a fair bit for the Tiguan R to arrive but that means it has been given enough thought and executed with the sort of German precision that makes us happy to have waited.

As fast SUVs go it’s a cracker, and with a price tag starting from R1,014,900 it is actually decent value in the segment.

It’s fun, aggressive when you want it to be and remarkably civilised when you don’t. Cars like this rarely make sense, but the Tiguan R is one case where that argument starts to change one's mind.

We cannot wait to drive the matching Golf next week!

    • The very first SA-spec BMW M2 snapped at BMW HQ in Midrand.

Zandvoort Blue would not be our choice but the looks have certainly grown on us. What about all of you?

    • If you’re expecting a faster, angrier and more focused version of the original 86, you’re going to be happy with this car.

Toyota finally gave the 86 more power. It’s not take-your-breath-away power, but again, it’s not made to win drag races. If you want more power, get a Supra.

Sure it is a bit more pricey this time around but it is a no-regrets kind of car that you will enjoy just as much today as 10 years from now.

Long live the manual transmission, especially when it’s packaged within something as fun as the Toyota GR86.
