We know Mercedes and the AMG team are hard at work developing new variants of the AMG GT, including a hardcore GT R version but a recent interview with Mercedes-AMG boss has shed light on the arrival of the AMG GT Roadster arrival. In an interview with AutoCar, Tobias Moers stated that Merc will be releasing a roadster version of the GT later this year but sales will commence in the Spring of 2017. Moers went on to say that the Roadster version will receive “a different variant” in addition to the non-S and S versions. Our guess is the powertrain from the upcoming AMG GT R. Considering the reveal happening this year, expect some spy shots and leaks coming pretty soon.
