Mercedes have finally pulled the covers off their new GT Roadsters which come in two flavours. The first is the AMG GT Roadster which packs 469 horsepower and the second range topping model is called the AMG GT C Roadster and it packs a whopping 547 hp. So after all the rumours swirling around the net, it seems it is true that the GT C Roadster is 46 hp more powerful than the AMG GT S and it get’s some tech from the track-honed AMG GT R. So what do we need to know about these two new drop-top Germans?

    • AMG GT C comes with rear axle steering, electronic locking diff & wider rear track
    • Torque sits at 680 Nm
    • 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.7 seconds
    • Top speed limited to 316 km/h
    • AMG GT Roadster 0 to 100 km/h takes 4 seconds flat
    • Both powered by the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8
    • The fabric roof opens / closes in just 11 seconds (speeds up to 50 km/h)
    • You can choose from black, red or beige for your roof colour
    • 11 colour options are available for the exterior paint job
    • GT Roadster tips scales at 1,595kg
    • GT C weighs 45kg more at 1,660kg
    • GT C comes with ‘Race’ mode
    • Both have active air management from the GT R
Looks wise they are spot on! This must be one hell of a machine to drive (either of them). Hearing that deep V8 growl and gearshift bark without a roof will give anyone goosebumps.
