The bright green paint on the AMG GT R is barely dry but that has not stopped AMG from pondering a possible range-topping black version of their popular sports car. Tobias Moers, AMG boss, sat down with Top Gear at the 2016 LA Auto Show and during that conversion, Moers mentioned that a more hardcore Black Series variant could be ready by 2018.

When you are developing a Black Series version of an already potent machine you need to take your time to make sure it’s done right. Considering the GT R already packs 577 horses the Black Series will need to push out at least 600 hp. The new E63 pumps out a whopping 603 hp so it’s achievable but how on earth are they going to make it look more angry than the furious looking GT R?
