    Porsche Make R220k Profit On Every Car, BMW Just R65k

    If you have been fortunate enough to spec a brand new Porsche, you will know that they charge for absolutely everything. Things you would think come standard are actually an option in your Porsche. For example, when building your 911, you will need to tick a box to add a rear wiper which is just mind-boggling. Porsche are clever though as this means they are making a profit of about $17,000 for every car it sells (averaging profits on each car).

    By comparison, BMW on average makes $5,000 per car it sells but that is because there are a lot of ‘options’ that come standard with some of the models.

    Keep in mind these are prices for the US of A which are not exactly the same as our inflated local prices…
