New Audi R8 Spyder Spotted Testing In Namibia Without Camouflage

Audi’s drop-top version of the new R8 was spied camouflaged last year but thanks to these shots below, we now know what it looks like without a spot of camouflage. Put simply, it looks epic! What is different? For a start it gets rid of the glass panel above the engine from the Coupe and adds extra cooling vents to the extended rear panel. The fabric roof itself is very similar in design to the old car, with two buttresses on either side extending back onto the engine bay and a vertical rear window that retracts when the roof is lowered. The same V10 engines will be available so you can choose from the 532 hp ‘entry level’ or the 601 hp V10 Plus version. Expect the 0 to 100 km/h time to be marginally less than the 3.5 seconds. Since it has not been launched, I would assume the official unveiling will be in Geneva.
