Many Malaysian consumers are switching to electric vehicles for various reasons. These vehicles offer comfort, peace of mind, and lasting value. They are safer for the environment ensuring that the world remains beautiful for future generations. The only potential downside is that EVs tend to be more expensive than gas alternatives. Therefore, many customers are hesitant to make the switch right now.

Thankfully, certain hatchbacks in Malaysia are affordable and well worth the price. Read the guide below to learn more about affordable electric vehicle hatchbacks in Malaysia.

    MG4

While there are many options to choose from, one cannot ignore the MG4 EV. The vehicle has plenty to offer, including an extensive driving range and a fast charge time. In addition to this, the MG4 EV can accelerate rapidly. The exterior design of the vehicle is gorgeous while the interior is spacious enough to accommodate the entire family. When the customer looks at the specifications, it’ll be easy to see why the MG4 is 1 of the highest rated hatchback electric car in Malaysia.

For instance, the vehicle delivers an overall range of 520km. The fast charge can be completed in less than 40 minutes. The floating console is futuristic enough to satisfy even the pickiest of customers. The vehicle features a two-spoke steering wheel that makes it easy to remain in control at all times. Thanks to the folding sets, the MG4 EV is great for family trips and hauling cargo.

This hatchback is easily one of the best options for Malaysian customers.

    Smart 1

The Smart 1 is an all-electric smart car that may not be the cheapest. It has rear-wheel drive and can produce up to 272 PS of power. In terms of torque, it can deliver 343 Nm. The vehicle is impressive in many ways, but it doesn’t match what the MG4 offers. For instance, this vehicle has a much shorter range.  It can only travel 315 km on a single charge.

Individuals who upgrade to the Premium or Brabus options will receive up to 440 km per charge. Still, this is far less than what is offered by the MG4. Still, some will like the sleek exterior design of the Smart 1 electric vehicle.

      BYD Dolphin

The BYD Dolphin is another decent option for Malaysian customers. Again, it doesn’t match the MG4 in terms of range, performance, or reliability. The Dolphin electric vehicle is made by Chinese automaker BYD. It is available in two models, Standard Range and Premium Extended Range. Unfortunately, neither option is going to deliver the same range as the MG4.

With the Standard version, you’ll only receive 340 km. As for the upgraded version, 427 km is possible. The motor is powerful though so the vehicle accelerates quickly.

      Which Is Best?

Malaysia customers have so many great options so it can be difficult to find the one right for you. Individuals trying to get the most reliable and longest-lasting vehicle should look no further than the MG4. It has the best specifications of any EV hatchback in the country.
