Next-Gen Audi RS5 Mule Spotted Likely Dropping V8 for V6

We saw the new Audi A5 and S5 Coupe’s a few days back but what most of you (like us) are waiting for is the top-of-the-range RS5 version. PistonHeads received some shots which clearly show the test mule sporting some fender extensions on all four corners to make room for the bigger wheels and wider tracks, plus larger air ducts on the front bumper and some RS-style exhaust pipes. It looks pretty developed to us so we may even see an online debut in the near future. The rumors are rife regarding the powerplant for this car and it all points to the V8 being dropped for a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6. It will either get two conventional turbochargers, or a small electric turbocharger for instant boost at low rpm and a conventional exhaust gas-driven turbocharger for high-end performance. Whatever the car is fitted with, it should pump out close to 500 horsepower making it beefier than the BMW M3/M4 but in the same power league as the Mercedes-AMG C63 S.
