Imagine seeing a combined total of well over 10,000kw at the same place, at the same time. It’s a crazy thought, yes; but one which became an incredible reality thanks to high-end luxury lifestyle community Last Lion Lifestyle this past Sunday 14 June. If you happened to be an automotive enthusiast, you’d probably have thought that you somehow passed on and landed up in motoring heaven.

Ask any real ‘petrolhead’ what their dream garage would consist of, and you’re pretty much guaranteed to hear brands like Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche being thrown about excitedly. Those who happened to be in the vicinity of The Westin Hotel at the CTICC on Sunday morning were reduced to quivering, dribbling messes as some of the Cape’s finest and rarest supercar metal came out to play – and whether you were an enthusiast or not, you would agree that it was an incredible sight to behold. If ever there was a quintessential dream garage collection, this was it!

From stately Bentley Continentals, sporty Jaguars, BMW M-division and rival AMG derivatives, to highly modified Nissan R35 GTR’s – and Gallardo Superleggeras, Astons, Maseratis, Ferrari Californias and 458 Italia’s in between – likeminded supercar and sports car owners gathered on the day to embark on a thrilling breakfast run; with the enchantingly luxurious Asara Wine Estate in Stellenbosch being the intended destination.

The Last Lion Lifestyle breakfast run was multi-faceted in its appeal. Not only would the public be treated to a spontaneous supercar show (both parked and out on the highways – can you imagine seeing over 100 multimillion rand machines screaming past you?), but the owners were given the unique opportunity to really enjoy their cars the way they were meant to be enjoyed. An obvious upshot was that after a spirited drive, all those in attendance would be treated to a decadent luxury experience courtesy of the Asara Wine Estate – all while mingling, networking and establishing new friendships and connections.

Thanks to motoring brands that were involved on the day Velocity Cars, McLaren Cape Town, and Mercedes Benz AMG coming on board for the Last Lion event, a few incredible spot prizes were also handed out – including advanced driving courses, luxury luggage sets, and even getting to spend a day with a McLaren 650S! Numerous media crews were also in attendance on the day; with each team doing an amazing job of capturing the spirit and essence of the event.

It might only be the third high-end supercar event mounted by the team behind the Last Lion Lifestyle brand, but already it’s proving to be a winning formula. The owners are already asking when the next event can be expected – we’ll all just have to wait and see, though! So, the next time you’re out and about and more than a dozen supercars come cruising past you; simply hoot, smile and wave – and know that a Last Lion Lifestyle experience is underway!
