A Maserati GranTurismo was crashed and abandoned at the University of Cape Town’s Hiddingh Campus on Sunday according to News24. Judging by the pictures, the driver lost control of the supercar, left the road and crashed through a fence. Campus staff said the car was speeding around a bend on Orange street prior to the incident. Driver and passenger(s) abandoned the car which suggests that there was possibly drinking involved.

Why someone would drink and drive at all I don’t understand but to get behind the wheel of a V8 Italian supercar is a whole new level of stupid. Damage to the car is substantial considering it plunged a a meter or two down before coming to rest on its side. This is the 4th supercar in as many weeks to have crashed in South Africa. Drive carefully out there please!
