The current entry-level Porsche race car is the 911 GT3 Cup but we have just learned that that the German manufacturer is going to release a new GT4-spec racer called the Cayman GT4 Clubsport. It will make its world debut next month at the Los Angelese Auto Show and will only be available to order through Porsche Motorsport. Since it is based on the Cayman GT4, it will come with a 3.8-liter flat-six engine that matches the road cars 385 hp. However, unlike the road car, which comes with a six-speed manual, the race car benefits from a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission that’s operated via paddle shifters. You will also get a mechanical locking differential at the rear axle, suspension from the GT3 Cup car, a welded-in safety cage, racing bucket seat and a six-point harness.
