According to Motoring, Subaru will be heading for hybridization with their next WRX STI and if it turns out to be true, it will be seen as soon as 2017.  It will be powered by an updated version of the existing FA20 2.0-litre turbocharged boxer four-cylinder engine but in an effort to boost performance, while also reducing emissions it will be mated to an electric motor which should push peak power to around the 320 hp mark. Not much information is known just how the system will be implemented but it is safe to assume it will be fitted as standard driving all four wheels. Cosmetically, the car will retain the current body style but will get a whole host of new aero components including a large rear wing. If it looks anything like the Subaru WRX Concept as seen below, there will be many orders placed for their latest creation.
