In an environment with machinery and equipment with moving parts, it is important to have a grease gun at hand. This is a common tool that can be used to provide lubrication with force into areas that might otherwise be hard to reach. Here we will take a closer look at grease guns and why they should be used.

    What is a Grease Gun?

So, what exactly is a grease gun? This is a handheld tool that applies lubricant and grease to anything with moving parts where lubrication is required. When it comes to cars, you may want a grease gun to lubricate steering and universal joints as well as wheel bearings and much more. It can allow an individual to reach areas that are otherwise hard to reach and provide lubrication with pinpoint accuracy.

    Types of Grease Gun

It is also important to be aware of the different types of grease guns so that you can choose the right one for your needs. There are manual grease guns that are usually operated with a trigger mechanism, pneumatic grease guns that are air-powered and battery-powered grease guns. Battery guns tend to be the most common as they are easier to use, faster than a manual gun and often come with features like an LED light, which makes them a good option for working in darker conditions.

    Cons

Grease guns are a handy tool and you will get a lot of usage out of yours, especially if working in an environment with a lot of machinery. While these are the best way to lubricate machinery and equipment, you will find that they can become clogged. However, this can be easily prevented with proper cleaning after each usage and keeping the guns stored properly. Additionally, some guns will only work with a specific type of grease, so this should always be researched and you always look to buy from the top brands, such as Dewalt grease guns.

    So Should I Buy One?

The pros of grease guns usually outweigh the drawbacks, especially if you work somewhere that uses a lot of equipment and machinery, such as a Garage. If you have a trained lubrication technician and a high-quality grease gun, you can keep your daily operation running smoothly as well as increase the lifespan of the equipment that you use and this could save the business a lot of money over the long term while minimizing downtime.

Overall, grease guns can play a hugely important role and help to keep machinery and equipment with moving parts working properly. Whether you are a mechanic or just enjoy working on your car, you should find a grease gun to be a worthwhile investment that helps keep everything running smoothly as well as extend the life of your car parts.
