Aston Martin have revealed that the 2015 Rapide S and Vanquish will get a few new touches. The most important new enhancement would be the newly developed Touchtronic III eight-speed transimission which not only promises to reduce fuel consumption and increase performance but the it is 3% lighter and more compact than the previous seven-speed. This new ZF-developed box uses a transaxle layout which shaves a healthy 0.5 seconds off the 0 to 96 km/h time, which now takes just 4.1 seconds (in the Vanquish). The Rapide S also benefits from this by cutting 0.5 seconds off the sprint which is not 4.2 seconds. On average, fuel economy has been improved by 11 percent on average for both models and the engineers have also managed to reduce exhaust pressure resulting in a 3 hp bump for both of them. Finishing off the upgrades would be an updated engine management, ten-spoke forged alloy wheels, new paint options and new interior cabin leather trim colours. Deliveries will start in the next month or so.
