Just before the Los Angeles Motor Show arrives, Audi have taken the covers off their hot new 2015 R8 Competition. It is billed as the last hurrah for the current generation and is the “most powerful Audi production vehicle-to-date”.

Power is still produced by the same 5.2-litre V10 engine but it has been tuned to produce a very strong 570 horsepower. Connected to the all-wheel drive system and the seven-speed S tronic gearbox, this new R8 is capable of hitting 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds before topping out at 320 km/h. The styling draws inspiration from the R8 LMS car and features a number of carbon components with a matte finish. Front spoiler, flics, side blades, mirror caps, rear diffuser and rear wing are all part of the package and these elements look fantastic. To complete the styling upgrades on the outside, the car is fitted with gloss black alloy wheels and a sports exhaust system with high-gloss tailpipes. Production is limited to just 60 units and will only be available in the United States (BooHoo).
