We know Mercedes-AMG engineers are hard at work testing a new hardcore version of the GT sports car but thanks to Drive, we now have some new information and its going to excite the AMG fanboys and fangirls.

Tobias Moers sais the GT R (name not confirmed) will be faster around a race track than the previous performance flagship, the SLS AMG Black Series. He continued to say that it was important for Mercedes-AMG to continue pushing the envelope and surprising the market. The car is expected to make its world debut at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom in June. Moers believes that it could end up faster than the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which he has tested himself. We will likely see an increased output from the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, four-wheel steering, active aero, track suspension, wider wheels and tyres and of course some weight-saving measures.
