The Maserati Levante was unveiled in Johannesburg last night and with that the local pricing and availability was finally shared with the public.

Internationally the Levante SUV is offered with both Diesel and Petrol engines but South Africa is only getting the Diesel offering. The 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine we will be getting is the more powerful 275 horsepower version which also packs 600 Nm of torque.

For the Levante Diesel, top speed sits at 230 km/h, 0 to 100km/h takes 6.9 seconds and if you careful with that accelerator, you could get as much as 7.2l/100km.

Base pricing for the SUV sits at R1,650,000 which is rather competitive in the top end SUV battle.
