It was teased a few days back and now thanks to the LA Motor Show, the Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet has shown it’s very expensive face. The expansion of the Mercedes-Maybach brand continues as this becomes the firm’s first convertible with a price tag starting from €300,000.

    • Only 300 examples of the S 650 Cabriolet are due to be made worldwide
    • Tough competition in the form of the Rolls-Royce Dawn
    • Based on Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet
    • Same 621bhp 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 powering it
    • 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds
    • Exterior proportions are the same as the S-Class drop-top
    • Number of exclusive Maybach changes
    • New 20-inch forged chrome wheels
    • New front bumper design
    • Extra chrome trim
    • Maybach emblems also feature on the wing and the puddle light projection
The interior as you would think is a place of pure opulence. Merc claims that every option available on the S-Class, including the AIRSCARF neck-heating system and the Swarovski crystal headlamps, is thrown in as standard on the Maybach S 650, while additional kit includes a special travel luggage set and diamond quilted car cover. You even get a signed certificate from Mercedes CEO Dr Dieter Zetsche.
