Why is it Great to Install Additional Canopy Features to Your UTE?

A UTE without a toolbox canopy in the back is not a complete deal. The toolbox canopy changes the looks of the vehicle and adds class to it, but more importantly, it provides an unlimited amount of functionality and versatility – it makes the UTE complete for its owner.

If you own one, you must install a canopy, and if you already have one, it’s time to think about the next step – installing additional features. There are multiple options when you are upgrading and renewing the toolbox canopy. You need to know what you want and what you need the most.

In this article, we’re highlighting a few potential add-ons you must consider if you’re thinking about improving the looks and functionality of your vehicle. Keep reading and find out why these items are great and why they deserve to be part of your UTE setup!

    1. A wheel carrier attached to the canopy

If you’re still looking for an aluminium UTE canopy for sale, you should be looking for one that will allow you to mount a spare wheel holder with a spare wheel attached. This feature is excellent as it provides quick and easy access to the extra tire needed in times of trouble.

Most UTEs will have their spare wheel installed under the tray or have no spare wheel at all. When you mount a robust toolbox canopy, it’s great to add the feature called wheel carrier. It is attached at the back of the canopy, and the wheel is secured in place, so it goes wherever you’re going. If you have a flat tire, changing it will take you no more than 10 minutes.

    2. Add a roof rack for maximum storage capacity

Everyone who travels loves the roof rack. It is the best option for those who love sports, camping, hunting, or something else that requires storing lots of items or storage that won’t fit into the canopy. The roof rack is an open space, so you can secure your cargo with a few ropes and be sure you’re getting it safely anywhere.

The roof rack is installed on top of the canopy. You still use your toolbox as you want, but when you need more storage and transport items that are too big for the canopy, you can climb on top of the canopy and use this storage area.

    3. Think about windows and doors on your canopy

Most canopies will come with the same standard looks – two openings on both sides. It doesn’t have to be that way if you require something else. Everything can be customized, and your canopy is not an exception. Adding additional windows and doors is a fantastic idea.

Suppose you have a dog. The best way to transport it is to have a dog crate made especially for your pet. However, even if you don’t have a crate, an adjusted toolbox with additional doors and windows that will create the much-needed breeze inside is a great option.

    4. A complex shelving interior is highly valuable

All canopies are empty inside. They are plain boxes where you can store tools, work equipment, machines, and anything else that fits inside. However, you can also use them for your exciting adventures and camping trips by rearranging the interior.

Install a complex shelving and drawer system and place all the small items needed for these trips. Your glasses, utensils, and plates will stay intact while driving, yet always be ready for use although you might be somewhere deep into the wilderness.

    5. Insulation on the inside walls can be beneficial

Contractors and people working with tools and machines can’t risk heat or water exposure. They need a toolbox that will protect their tools, machines and equipment. Although the aluminium cover is just enough to protect against all weather conditions, it’s not enough during hot summers.

During the summer, the sun will create enormous temperatures, and everything inside the toolbox might be ruined due to it. That’s why an additional insulation system will prevent this from happening. The insulation will keep an optimal temperature, which is also great for campers transporting their food inside.

    6. Customize the looks

Finally, why drive a toolbox canopy that looks like everyone else’s? Before installing anything or even after it is done, ask for custom paint, personal motives, and something else that will make the canopy unique.

Think of some personal touches like adding images you love, painting the company logo, or something similar – also, the paint and the finish of the canopy can go in different directions and have nothing to do with the rest of the vehicle – let your imagination roam and create something that will highlight your style and personality. Create the perfect UTE.
