Apparently this is the near-production concept of the GTI that will be shown in Paris this week. The powerplant is a 2.0-liter TFSI engine with 220hp and 164kW. There is an additional performance package which boosts it to 171kW. The 0 to 100km/h comes up in a decent 6.6 seconds. The looks I feel are great! I personally have a Golf 6 GTI so I was secretly hoping that it would not look as good but they have done a great job. It is lowered by 15mm and fitted with some awesome GTi-esqu wheels. The usual red stitching and flattened steering wheel will make you feel right at GTI home but they have also fitted it with red ambient lighting which should look pretty damn cool!
