    We knew it was coming but we didn’t know it was going to be so damn quick! Ladies and gents here is the fastest Golf GTI ever! It goes by the name of the GTI Clubsport S and it just ran a ring time of 7min 49.21sec which makes it 1.4 secs faster than the then record-holder Honda Civic Type R. Here is what you need to know;

    • Track-focused chassis
    • 306 horspower (more powerful than Golf R)
    • Larger twin exhaust (compared to Clubsport)
    • Additional S badging
    • 19inch wheels (standard)
    • Rear seats removed
    • Sound deadening material removed
    • Only available in 6-speed manual
    • Limited run of 400 units
    • Comprehensive rework of suspension
    • 37 seconds faster around The Ring than the GTI Performance Pack

    Looking at it’s performance, this GTI is going to take aim at the new Ford Focus RS and Mercedes-AMG A45. No word on pricing yet but we would estimate the number to be around R750,000.
