Land Rover have taken a big gamble with what seems to be the “world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible” in the form of the Range Rover Evoque Convertible and it has officially been revealed. So what do you need to know?

    • Fully-automated cloth roof opens in 18 seconds
    • Roof closes in 21 seconds up to speeds of 50 km/h
    • When roof is closed, sound insulation is on par with 5 door Evoque
    • 270 kg heavier than hardtop model (extra strengthening and bracing)
    • 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 237 hp
    • 2.0-litre TD4 Ingenium diesel engine with 178 hp
    • New high-red 10.2-inch touchscreen with next-gen infotainment system ‘InControl Touch Pro’
    • World debut at next week’s LA Auto Show
    • Priced in UK from £47,500 for the TD4 HSE Dynamic derivative
To be honest it looks pretty good but I am not sure how many people would opt for a drop-top compact SUV. Guess we will have to wait and see
